Leeann Fields (Educational Compliance) has been elected to the advisory group for the national State Authorization Network under the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies. The network is the nation’s leading organization that provides guidance and support for navigating regulatory compliance for out-of-state activities of post-secondary institutions.
Fields was elected by her peers from a field of 20 candidates from across the country. In her role, she will promote collaborations among member institutions and develop tools to help them navigate complex interstate compliance issues, including student seat locations, out-of-state learning placements, and mandatory disclosures for professional licensure disciplines.
Fields has been leading the way in the state as founder of the Nevada State Authorization Network in collaboration with NSHE. UNLV on Sept. 30 will hold the network’s first statewide workshop with Nevada’s nine State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) institutions. Nationwide, SARA member institutions agree to abide by established national standards for interstate offerings of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. The workshop is designed to give Nevada institutions knowledge and tools to help them attain and remain in compliance with state and federal regulations.
