Leanne Soter and Stine Odegard (both Service Learning and Leadership) co-presented earlier this month at the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada's (GSSNV) 7th annual LEAD Conference: Your Next Step In Leadership.  Their session, "The Service Mindset," was aimed at supporting troops and service units to take the leap to do more community service — and to do so in a reflective, responsible, and reciprocal way. In a year-round capacity, Soter and Odegard serve on the GSSNV Outdoor Committee, but for this conference they were pleased to draw from their professional experience with service and civic engagement in service learning and leadership at UNLV to support the growth, development, and engagement of girls in Southern Nevada.
