Laurencia Bonsu, Sidath Kapukotowa, Anita Chatterjee, Asma Awan, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) presented a paper, “Implications derived from a qualitative study on gambling behavior among older adults” at the UMTEB International Scientific Research Congress-XIII held on June 29-30, 2023, in Paris, France. This study was funded by the Nevada Department of Public and Behavioral Health and supported by the UNLV International Gaming Institute and Nevada Council on Problem Gambling. The study provided support for the potential application of the multi-theory model of health behavior change in designing instruments and interventions for addressing problem gambling among older adults. Bonsu, Kapukotowa, and Chatterjee are graduate students and recipients of the grant.
