Ph.D. candidate Kristine Jan Cruz Espinoza (Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education) is one of five scholars across the United States who was awarded a NASPA 2024 Channing Briggs Small Research Grant Award ($5,000 research grant award). This small research grant award will support Espinoza's project, "An Exploratory Multiple-Case Study of How Institutions Negotiate Dual Minority-Serving Institution Designations." This is also Espinoza's first solo research grant award. The NASPA 2024 Channing Briggs Small Research Grant awardees will be announced and celebrated at the upcoming NASPA Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, on March 9-13, 2024.
Research projects were selected based on how the scholarly contributions of these projects will impact the field of higher education student affairs and were selected due to their support of the discovery of new knowledge, new applications of theory to practice, and innovation in the field of student affairs.
