Kendra Gage (Interdisciplinary, Ethnic and Gender Studies), presented a paper titled "'The Black Strip': Black Las Vegas Nightlife in the 1950s and 1960s" at the annual conference of the Historians of the 20th Century United States in Edinburgh, Scotland. Gage discussed how African Americans created community institutions in mid-20th century Las Vegas.
