Kelly Tseng (Life Sciences) and colleagues published two articles. "V-ATPase Regulates Retinal Progenitor Cell Proliferation During Eye Regrowth in Xenopus" was published in the Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics and was co-authored with students Cindy Kha and Iris Nava (both Life Sciences). This study revealed a novel mechanism for controlling eye stem cells to induce regeneration in frog embryo eyes. "Biophysics at the edge of life and death: Radical control of apoptotic mechanisms," published in Frontiers in Cell Death, included colleagues Samantha Hack and Wendy Beane (both Western Michigian University). This article described the biophysical mechanisms that can regulate cell death in growth, development and tissue repair.
