Kavita Batra (Medicine), Ravi Batra, and Manoj Sharma (both Public Health) co-authored the study, "The Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors by State in the USA, 1990–2021: A Systematic Analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021," published in the Lancet journal. This study examines the burden of diseases, injuries, and risk factors across the United States, shedding light on significant disparities in health outcomes among states. It highlights the urgent need for targeted strategies to address the unique health challenges faced by different regions. The findings from this study offer crucial guidance for policymakers, medical professionals, and researchers to develop investment strategies and policy interventions aimed at mitigating the causes of health loss and premature mortality.
