Kavita Batra (Medicine), Jennifer R. Pharr (Public Health), Axenya Kachen (UNR School of Medicine), Samantha Godbey (UNLV Libraries), and Emylia Terry (Public Health), published an article, "Investigating the psychological impact of COVID-19 among the sexual and gender minority population: A systematic review and meta-analysis," in the LGBT journal (Impact Factor: 5.150). Findings of this study serve as evidence to develop appropriate interventions to promote psychological wellbeing among vulnerable population subgroups, such as sexual and gender minorities (SGM). Batra and Pharr have published multiple articles related to physical and mental morbidities in LGBTQ+ subgroups since 2021. Terry is a doctoral student and a graduate research assistant within the school of public health. Terry is interested in how laws, policies, and communication campaigns impact health outcomes and disparities, particularly among SGM individuals.
