Kavita Batra (Medicine) along with the Fertility and Forecasting Global Collaborators recently published a study in the Lancet journal, which found that over 95% of countries will have fertility rates below what is needed to sustain their population size by 2100. This study involved a comprehensive demographic assessments of key fertility indicators at global, regional, and national levels from 1950 to 2021 and forecast fertility metrics to 2100 based on a reference scenario and key policy-dependent alternative scenarios. Batra is actively working with the Global collaborators on several forecasting projects related to the chronic diseases and other health conditions' epidemiology.
