Katrina Liu (Teaching and Learning) was among 15 scholars nationwide invited to speak at Stanford University’s 2018 Race, Inequality and Language in Education (RILE) Conference earlier this month.
The theme of the conference was "An Exploration of Interdisciplinary Research: Redefining Problems, Reimagining Possibilities, & Redesigning Educational Futures." Liu presented her longitudinal study on critical reflection for transformative learning in teacher education with a focus on prospective teachers’ habits of mind and patterns of acting in handling racial issues in teaching practice, and shared the implications of her research for the preparation of future teachers and teacher educators.
