Kathryn Houk, Ruby Nugent, Aidy Weeks, and Xan Goodman (Libraries) are among a group of health sciences librarians who will receive President's Awards from the Medical Library Association during the organization's annual meeting in May.
Houk, Nugent, and Weeks will receive the award for their contributions to the MLA Spanish-language COVID-10 Resource Page. They join colleagues Naomi Bishop, Nora Franco, Brenda M. Linares, Mirian Ramirez Rojas, Amy Reyes, and former UNLV health sciences librarian Bredny Rodriguez in winning the award.
Goodman also will receive a President's Award for her work on the MLA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, along with her colleagues and fellow task force members Sandra G. Franklin, Kelly Akin, Diana Almader-Douglas, Kelsa Bartley, Stephen Kiyoi, Jane Morgan-Daniel, Matthew Nicolas Noe, JJ Pionke, Neville D. Prendergast, Jessica Sender, Amy Taylor, and Gurpreet Kaur Rana.
The President's Award is given to an MLA member for a notable or important contribution made during the past association year that enhanced the profession of health sciences librarianship or furthered the objectives of the association.
