Kass Moore (Career Services) a career and professional development specialist, presented at the 2020 NASPA Regional Conference last week.
Her event was within the Student Affairs Speaks component of the program. The description of the event was as follows: "As a young, queer professional, I often find it challenging to earn respect and compassion from my seasoned colleagues. In this session, I will provide real-world examples of the discrimination I have faced in the workplace and how it has impacted my experience in student affairs. Further, I will offer recommendations for overcoming barriers as a young, marginalized professional in a seasoned community, and offer a call to action that we shift the status quo from 'young means inadequate' to 'young is welcomed and needed.'"
