Juliana Byzyka (Transportation Research Center; Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction) presented "A Study of Electric Vehicles Ecosystem in Nevada" during the FISTS 2024: 4th IEEE Forum for Innovative Sustainable Transportation Systems held Feb. 26-28 at the Bourns Technology Center in Riverside, California. This is an ongoing project with professor and TRC director Shashi Nambisan in collaboration with postgraduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction.
The presentation summarized the state of the charging infrastructure for light-duty electric vehicles (LDEVs) in the state of Nevada. Specifically, it addressed the trends of the EV fleet in the state and the extent of the EV charging infrastructure across the state. The study compared these with those for conventional internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs). The findings of the study can help to support decision-making for policy, regulatory, and operational options to develop EV charging infrastructure in Nevada.
