Juanita Hinojosa and Federick Ngo (both Educational Psychology & Higher Education) presented a forthcoming paper, "Supporting Undocumented Community College Students" at the annual conference of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges. In this paper, they discuss policies and practices in higher education that can support undocumented students, including state financial aid, free college and promise programs, and dual enrollment programs. They also examine features of supportive campus environments, such as psychological services to support mental health and well-being, trained staff, and undocumented student resource centers. Hinojosa is a PhD student.
