Dr. Joshua J. Goldman (Medicine) published a successful, complex reconstruction of the upper cervical spine and craniovertebral junction with a free vascularized fibula osseocutaneous flap. The case was the longest of its type with reconstruction to the skull base. This research is being followed with a meta-analysis of similar reconstructions with that manuscript currently in progress.
