In Spring 2024, John Starkey's BUS 103-1001 class at UNLV's Lee Business School set an ambitious goal to raise $2,000 for local non-profit organizations in Nevada. The selected organizations include: Friends for Life Humane Society, Tortoise Group, Changing the Narrative Inc., and SouthWest Exotic Avian Rescue. Their dedication and innovative fundraising efforts paid off immensely, as they not only met their goal but doubled it, raising a total of $4,001.
This remarkable achievement was driven by the hard work of the following students, who committed their time to fundraising on campus, engaging in community outreach, and effectively utilizing various social media platforms to amplify their efforts:
Dylan Aguilar, David Anderson, Isiah Bloecher, Morgane Costa, Tionna Davis, Sophia Glemaud, Tomas Garcia, Kai Fairweather, Alyssa Falkensammer, Lou Trigg, Sinee Wongrattananon, Lisa Lyu, Liz Linares-Rueda, Sarina Kansky, Ava Kuhn, Evan Martin, Nicholas Providenti, Zach Rosenfeld, Alex Bent, Brandon Trang, Noor Vermilya, Cid Vicente, Justin Allen, Loris Yebe.
Their collective efforts not only surpassed their financial target but also demonstrated their ability to positively impact their community through teamwork and perseverance.
