Professor John Curry (History) has been elected as treasurer of the American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT), and will serve a three-year term as part of the organization's Board of Directors. He will oversee the management of an endowment of over $2 million in funds that are used to support research in archaeological, historical, and contemporary topics that are carried out within the Turkish Republic and beyond. UNLV faculty and students have often benefited from the grants offered by the Institute to carry out various projects in recent years.
