Bioethicist Johan Bester’s (Medicine) response to a recent article in The Journal of the American Medical Association was published in the Jan. 8 issue of JAMA Pediatrics.
Bester, an assistant professor of family medicine, opined on an article outlining the case of Charlie Gard, an 11-month-old British infant being kept alive by life support, whose medical team and a British judge determined that further treatment was not in the child’s best interest.
