Johan Bester (Medicine) published an article in the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry that looks at the justice obligations resting on society and individuals in the light of the COVID pandemic. In the article he argues that society's institutions and members have obligations to take steps to mitigate the impact of the COVID pandemic on the well-being of people. In this regard, everyone has to do their bit to comply with proven preventive strategies that can stop the spread of COVID. The article examines which obligations rest on which people and institutions, and proposes the ethically most preferable ways to combat the pandemic.
