Joe Ervin (Academic Success Center), Dave Beisecker, and Jasmin Özel (both Philosophy) recently published their paper in Philosophy of Education. Their paper focuses on the educational work of William Torrey-Harris and the St. Louis Hegelians, and John Dewey. Analyzing such Hegelian educational thought, their paper details the institutionalization of American democratic education in the 19th century.
