Jennifer M. Clark and Allen Gibbs (both Life Sciences) published a paper in the Journal of Experimental Biology titled, "Starvation selection reduces and delays larval ecdysone production and signaling." This research shows that changing steroid hormone production in larval fruit flies causes them to develop into obese adults. This work was part of Clark's Ph.D. dissertation research.
