Jennifer Byrnes and Iván Sandoval-Cervantes (both Anthropology) co-edited The Marginalized in Death: A Forensic Anthropology of Intersectional Identity in the Modern Era, which was released by Lexington Books in August. 

The volume brings forensic and cultural anthropology closer together through case studies of structural violence and power. Paying attention to how death further marginalizes minoritized populations, this volume goes beyond conventional forensic anthropology and sheds light on the field’s potential to address social injustice. With 39 contributors, including UNLV anthropology graduate student Katharine Woollen, the volume brings a breadth and depth of perspectives and voices representing many different agencies and levels of experience.
