Jay Vickers (Economic Development) chief business and revenue officer for UNLV’s Sports Research & Innovation Initiative, was named to the advisory council for the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Game Changers United.
The newly created seven-member council of athletics leaders and former U.S. Soccer national team members will work alongside the federation to assist in its commitment to break down barriers and create a place where every individual is welcomed, respected, and valued within U.S. Soccer. The council will meet quarterly and share valuable insight, advice, and direction on U.S. Soccer’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) efforts.
Advisory council members were selected based on their knowledge and years of experience, as well as their commitment and leadership toward advancing DEIB. In addition to Vickers, members include former U.S. Soccer national team players Cobi Jones, Robbie Rogers, and Abby Wambach; and industry leaders Terri Cooper, Ricardo Fort, and Aimee Hoyt.
