Jason Flatt (Environmental & Occupational Health) published an article on "Subjective cognitive decline higher among sexual and gender minorities in the United States, 2015-2018" in the journal, Alzheimer's & Dementia: Translational Research & Clinical Interventions.
Subjective cognitive decline represents self-reported problems with memory, a possible early sign of dementia. Little is known about it among sexual and gender minority adults who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender or gender non-binary. The article discusses that higher prevalence of the decline in those adults highlights the importance of ensuring inclusive screenings, interventions, care services, and resources.
