The summer 2024 issue of Western American Literature contains a review of the dystopian-adventure novel "Hammer of the Dogs" (University of Nevada Press, 2023) by Jarret Keene (English): "Operating squarely in the purview of The Hunger Games and Divergent novels, with a bit of Harry Potter, 'Hammer of the Dogs' brings anarchistic glee to the post-apocalyptic genre and uses the cityscape of Las Vegas to great effect."
