Jacob D. Skousen (Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education) with colleagues from Brigham Young University, Drs. Spencer C. Weiler and David Boren, and BYU graduate students, Jason Averett and Nate Crandall, presented at the Utah Coalition for Educational Technology earlier this month. The presentation, "Reflections from the Principal's Office: Lessons Learned from Retired Principals," included findings from their research regarding effective school leadership from the perspective of recently retired principals.
Every year thousands of school leaders retire, taking with them insights, experiences, wisdom, and compelling stories that describe how they effectively faced each day. Our research has collected the shared wisdom, advice, and experience of retired school leaders who are no longer in the daily whirlwind of leading schools.
