Howard R.D Gordon (Teaching & Learning) served as a panel speaker at the 2017 Southern Nevada Urban Agriculture and Food Sustainability Forum in August. The focus of the discussion was how "Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Can Prepare the Future Agriculture Workforce Through the the Integration of Topics such as Plant Science, Hydroponics, Intelligent Automation, and 3D Printing." Panelists included Angela O'Callaghan, social horticulture specialist of the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, and professor Stanley T. Omaye of the department of agriculture, nutrition, and veterinary sciences at UNR.
