Helen J. Wing (Life Sciences) presented her and her team's research on the regulation of Shigella virulence genes at the BioPhyChrom workshop in the Netherlands (Sept. 11-15). The workshop, which focuses on the biology and physics of the bacterial chromosome, was held at the Lorentz Center on the campus of the University of Leiden (the oldest university in the Netherlands). Taylor Gerson and Monika Karmey from the Wing research group also attended the workshop.
