Heather Richardson (Service Learning and Leadership) secured a $5,000 gift from Compassionate Las Vegas to support her ongoing work in supporting UNLV students who have experienced foster care through the Fostering Scholars program. Specifically, this money will help secure textbooks for students in need and assist with their academic progress and success. 

Fostering Scholars was founded in 2021 and was the first program of its kind in the state of Nevada supporting this population in higher education.
