Hal Berghel (Computer Science) published an article, "A Collapsing Academy: Internal and External Threat Vectors Facing Higher Education," in IEEE Computer. In this article Berghel discusses a few of today's most pressing internal and external threats to higher education including plagiarism, research misconduct, questionable authorship practices, the over-emphasis of impact measures, and agenda-oriented "quiet influencing."
