UNLV undergraduates Gaelan Chen, Victor Gumenyuk and Jacob T. Hook (all Math) ranked in the 95th percentile overall in the preeminent math competition for undergraduate students in the U.S. and Canada in December. The Putnam Math Competition is a six-hour competition held annually and administered by the Mathematical Association of America.
UNLV had several students competing and the teams. The competition had 427 participating institutions from the U.S. and Canada totaling 2,975 individual participants.
