Gabriela Buccini (Social & Behavioral Health) has been accepted into the 2022-24 Institute for Implementation Science Scholars (IS-2) at Washington University in St. Louis. The IS-2 is a competitive mentored training program for investigators interested in applying dissemination and implementation (D&I) methods and strategies to reduce the burden of chronic disease and address health inequities. This innovative program will place a strong emphasis on mentoring, applying competencies and curriculum specifically focused on chronic disease disparities, and working with a diverse set of partners.
Buccini also is a lead co-author of a newly published article, "Prioritizing Nurturing Care at the Municipal and District Level with the Brazilian Early Childhood Friendly Municipal Index (IMAPI)" in the Maternal and Child Nutrition journal. In this article, the authors developed a quantitative prioritization process of nurturing care indicators to analyze IMAPI at the municipal and district levels, and the selected nurturing care indicators were jointly mapped into the socioecological model, specifying the roles of the indicator in the enabling nurturing care environment for early childhood development. This article is part of a supplement described in the editorial also co-led by Buccini ,"Monitoring Nurturing Care Environments for Early Childhood from the National to the Municipal Level"
