G Liu (Finance) and Manoj Sharma (Social and Behavioral Health) presented an interdisciplinary poster entitled, “Effect of Fear of Missing Out in Cryptocurrencies and Meme Stocks in a University Population” at the 15th annual Nevada State Conference on Problem Gambling held in Las Vegas earlier this month. Liu, a graduate student, secured a grant during a research methods class that Sharma taught. The funding came from the UNLV International Gaming Institute, Nevada Council on Problem Gambling, and Lee Business School. They collected the data this spring and the results were presented at the conference. They plan to publish the results.
