Fraternity and Sorority Life celebrated and competed in its annual Greeks Giving Back Week. This service- and philanthropy-focused week adapted to a hybrid experience benefiting both the UNLV and Clark County communities. Eleven organizations came together to have friendly competition and gave back to four incredible causes. First a two-day walk-a-thon raised more than $1,300 for Back on my Feet, where students completed more than 212 miles.
On Thursday, chapters donated more than 1,800 items for the UNLV Food Pantry, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, and Shade Tree. Our top placing chapters were: Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Sigma Kappa. Our top walkers were Leslie Reyes from Kappa Delta Chi sorority, Ashley Mccoy from Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and Isaac Dellatore from Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
This hybrid event was an extreme success and the community cannot wait to see its impact come fall with more in-person opportunities.
