Frank Cucinotta (Health Physics & Diagnostic Sciences) had his work published in the August issue of the Annals of ICRP (International Commission of Radiological Protection). He co-authored the article, "Assessment of Radiation Exposure of Astronauts in Space," which describes the terms and methods used to assess the radiation exposure of astronauts. His work also was cited in the June issue of the Journal of Radiological Protection, which is the official journal of the Society for Radiological Protection. The article, "Uncertainties in Estimating Health Risks Associated with Exposure to Ionising Radiation," suggests that his risk assessment approach, which is used by NASA, should be used by other areas of radiation protection. He will be continuing his research on space radiation risks and will be developing ground base spin-offs for improving radiation risk estimates on Earth.
