Federick Ngo (Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education) published an article titled "Use and Effectiveness of Academic Supports After Developmental Education Reform in California’s Community Colleges" in Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. The study examines the role of concurrent support courses (e.g., corequisites) in student success following the implementation of developmental education reform. Students who enrolled in concurrent support courses were more successful than their peers, but there was low take-up of these courses in the absence of requirements for students to do so.
