Elizabeth Stacy (Life Sciences) coauthored an in-depth review paper titled: "Hawai‘i Forest Review: Synthesizing the Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation of a Model System" in Perspectives in Plant Ecology, Evolution and Systematics. The findings of this synthesis challenge some long-standing ideas about evolution and ecology in the Hawaiian Islands, point to outstanding questions in these fields, and argue that the future of the islands' forests rests on the explicit integration of ecological and evolutionary research with conservation and restoration activities.
