Dr. Jo-Lawrence Martinez Bigcas (Medicine), assistant professor and residency program director of the department of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, recently authored "Indocyanine Green Angiography as the Principal Design and Perfusion Assessment Tool for the Supraclavicular Artery Island Flap in Head and Neck Reconstruction." The study describes a series of patients undergoing supraclavicular artery island flap, a flap that has variable results in different surgeons' hands. Indocyanine Green Angiography was used to design these flaps prior to incision and to demonstrate perfusion after transposition of the flap.
