Dr. Christina Demopoulos (Dental Medicine) co-authored “Perceptions about human papillomavirus vaccine and oropharyngeal cancers, and the role of dental care providers in human papillomavirus prevention among US adults,” which published in the February 2023 issue of Journal of the American Dental Association. The study’s results indicated that most adults are comfortable discussing HPV and the HPV vaccine with their oral health care provider, which, in turn, advances the perceptions and knowledge about the vaccine’s importance.
