Barb Brents (Sociology) participated in the panel on California Prostitution Law at Stanford University on Nov 11. Other panelists were Casey Bates, deputy district attorney for California's Alameda County; Maxine Doogan, president of the Erotic Sex Providers Legal, Education and Research Project; and Shelby Quast, policy director for Equality Now. Panelists presented and analyzed four different perspectives regarding legalizing prostitution: decriminalization, criminalization, the Nordic model, and the Nevada model.
