Laurencia Bonsu, Sidath Kapukotuwa, Anita Chatterjee, Asma Awan, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) published an article titled, “A phenomenological qualitative study based on the multi-theory model (MTM) of health behavior change to identify factors and ways to design interventions for quitting gambling among older adults,” in the Journal of Health and Social Sciences (Scopus Cite Score 3.9). The article applied Sharma’s MTM in a qualitative framework to enhance the understanding of gambling behavior in older adults and was funded by a grant from the Nevada Department of Public and Behavioral Health through the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling and the UNLV International Gambling Institute. Bonsu, Kapukotuwa, and Chatterjee are graduate students and secured the grant.
