Dr. Deborah Kuhls (Medicine) was installed as second vice-president of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) during a convocation ceremony in October. Kuhls is a professor and acute care surgery chief, as well as associate dean of research for the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. With 88,000 members worldwide, the ACS is considered by many to be the preeminent organization in surgical education, research, and ethics of practice.
