David G. Schwartz (Faculty Affairs) recently hosted a conversation with Las Vegas musical legend Frank Leone at the Clark County Library. Leone, who arrived in Las Vegas in 1967 to work as a pianist, conductor, and musical director, accompanied many of the era's top entertainment draws: Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Steve and Eydie, Red Skelton, Carol Channing, Anthony Newley, Roy Clark, Ben Vereen, Robert Goulet, Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., Ike and Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and The Pips, B.B. King, Ann-Margaret, Tony Bennett, and Elvis Presley, with whom he also toured. He also served as president of the Musicians Union of Las Vegas, Local 369, for 16 years, and has been an advocate for live music in his adopted hometown.
