David Orentlicher (Law) wrote a piece for The Conversation in which he discusses how the Supreme Court's majority voting rule excludes minority viewpoints and how a return to the Court's past norm of unanimous opinions would ensure that its decisions give voice to all of its justices and the unique perspectives that each of them brings. And when people with different perspectives make decisions together, they can identify solutions that none of them acting alone would have recognized. Their different ideas can combine to identify new approaches that better serve the public interest.
