Claytee D. White (Libraries) and David G. Schwartz (Ombuds) were recently honored with Historic Preservation Awards by the Historic Preservation Commission of the city of Las Vegas. White was celebrated for her decades of dedicated work to preserve the history of Las Vegas by collecting, documenting, and preserving oral histories from the diverse communities who call Las Vegas home. Schwartz was recognized for educating students at UNLV, as well as the general public, about the history of gaming in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
