Claytee White (Libraries) received special recognition by having an award named in her honor at the first Inaugural Black Carpet, the main event for Black History Month. This event was hosted by Student Diversity and Social Justice to celebrate Black Excellence, Black Love, and Black Joy. The Claytee White Community Advocate Award seeks to recognize a community member who is a strong advocate for the black community both on campus at UNLV and in the greater Las Vegas community. White also was the first recipient of this award.
