Dr. Christina Demopoulos (Dental) and Joshua Baker (Education) received a $5,000 grant from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis for a project focused on expanding the implementation of a behavior approach within Clark County to help reduce patients’ resistances to dental treatments. Research provides sufficient evidence that a behavior approach coupled with desensitization techniques create a more comfortable environment for the patient, and help reduce anxiety about future dental appointments. The grant will be used to create information collateral about these proactive behavior strategies as well as a listserv of dental providers who are interested in learning about or using this process.
