Chelsea Heinbach and Rosan Mitola (Libraries), with former UNLV librarian Erin Rinto, published a book, "Dismantling Deficit Thinking in Academic Libraries: Theory, Reflection, and Action," with Litwin Books and Library Juice Press. The book explores the history of deficit thinking in higher education and how it has negatively impacted student learning, particularly for marginalized students, and offers alternative strategies and educational principles that have the power to transform work with students in academic libraries.
