Carlos S. Dimas (History) was elected as president-elect of the Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies (SECOLAS) at the 2023 conference in Antigua, Guatemala. He will serve as president-elect 2023-2024 and then as president 2024-2025.
SECOLAS is an association of individuals interested in Latin America established in 1953. Its objectives are the promotion of interest in Latin America, scholarly research pertaining to Latin America in all fields, and the increase of friendly contacts among the peoples of the Americas
