Camisha Fagan (English and Sociology) and Vanessa Núñez (Sociology) presented at the Pacific Sociological Association's annual conference in Oakland, California. Their presentation was titled "SLICES of Research: Service Learning as a Means to Engage Youth in Research." This project was conducted through the SLICES (Service Learning Initiative for Community Engagement) organization. Fagan is an undergraduate, while Núñez is a graduate student.

Fagan also presented "Anti-Queer Microaggressions Towards Queer Black Men," a research project she did within UNLV's McNair Scholars program.
